Recently,<br \/>\nartificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a promising<br \/>\ntool to improve this process. AI can efficiently analyze<br \/>\nlarge datasets, including information about applicants\u2019<br \/>\nbackgrounds and past asylum outcomes, to predict the<br \/>\nsuccess of applications. This can enhance the objectivity<br \/>\nand efficiency of decisions, leading to more consistent<br \/>\nresults.<\/p>\n<p>However, using AI in this context also presents challenges.<br \/>\nSome AI algorithms are complex and difficult to interpret,<br \/>\nraising concerns about transparency and accountability.<br \/>\nAdditionally, if training data reflects biases, AI systems<br \/>\nmight inadvertently perpetuate discrimination.
